This was one of the more popular of the Precista military re-editions and is now available again due to overwhelming demand. This model was issued from at least 1989 until 1993 with the ordnance numbers 6645-99, 757-3314. The original had a mineral crystal and was fitted with the ISA 1198 single jewel quartz movement. In keeping with my policy of updating the specification, the PRS-18Q is fitted with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the underside and the movement has just been uprated to an ETA F06.411 68 month battery life.

The movement is one of the higher grade ETA quartz movements and the ones used in this latest version are Certified Chronometers and supplied with a COSC certificate.   COSC is Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, which is the institute responsible for certifying the accuracy and precision of wristwatches in Switzerland.

As far as I know, this is the only watch currently available with both a NATO Stock Number (NSN) and COSC.   If you know of another, please let me know.

This watch is made in Switzerland.

Supplied in a 2-watch travelling case, fitted with a grey NATO strap and guaranteed for 24 months.
